Power and electricity networks are unreliable, and many devices cannot function without them. Starting from desktop computers, through server rooms and networks, monitoring systems, medical equipment and devices central heating systems devices. The UPS is nothing more than a continuously recharged battery with accessories that make the load switch to emergency power within milliseconds in the event of a power failure or an undesirable change in its parameters.
That way, it is possible (usually for a short time) to maintain the operation of energy receivers. For example, in the case of a PC with a monitor, this is enough to protect the cached data from loss, save it to disk or media, and shut down the device safely. This alternative, guaranteed power supply protects your data and drives, as well as storage.
UPS stands for Uninterruptible Power Supply. This type of protection can provide power to receivers from a few minutes to several hours to restore normal power, or at least to protect the protected devices and data. The protection time depends on the capacity of the battery and the energy consumption of the receivers.
Types of UPS
The UPS consists of a battery, a rectifier that converts AC to DC and charges the battery, an inverter that converts DC from the battery to AC and supplies the load, and a bypass that protects the UPS from overload and switches the network to the output.
UPS units are manufactured in on-line, off-line and line-interactive versions. The on-line version is one in which the receivers are separated from the input voltage. The input current is constantly converted into a constant, then in the inverter into an alternating one and only from there it goes to the receiver. This guarantees that the receiver is supplied with power with very stable parameters, as well as the shortest possible time of switching to emergency power supply, when there is no power from the network.
The offline version is a constant recharging of the battery and switching on the emergency power supply in the event of a power failure in the network. Line-interactive is an improved off-line version with continuous stabilization of the output voltage.
UPS for every business
Our offer includes UPS with long backup times. The smallest, from the GIOTTO series, are designed to protect computers and peripherals for a few minutes. A slightly larger one, GALILEO, is a backup power supply for network devices, useful especially in small and medium-sized companies. The LEONARDO series includes UPS for server rooms, TLC equipment and emergency security systems.
The B8031FXS and B8033FXS systems are powered by three-phase current, and the output can be three-phase or single-phase. These UPSs are large enough to deal with the emergency power supply of industrial automation devices.
We also have high-capacity and powerful power supplies for data centers, medical equipment, high-rise buildings and teleinformatics.
The ON-LINE technology (double processing) is the only one that provides excellent parameters of the supply voltage, regardless of the type of receivers powered and disturbances in the power grid. This technology, in addition to having zero switch-over time to battery operation, guarantees that the frequency, amplitude and shape of the output voltage are constant.
